Thank A Soldier
"With the unconscionable horror that had taken over the world by 1941, it is surprising to realize that America still had to be dragged into war. Gallop polls indicated that 70% of Americans regretted our involvement in WWI, and the political scene of the 30s was dominated by isolationists who wanted nothing to do with “foreign wars.” In 1935, as the fascist storm brewed in Europe, 50,000 veterans demonstrated for peace in Wash.D.C.; that same year 175,000 students held an antiwar strike. Congress was forced to pass a Neutrality Act- the first of four to be enacted between 1935-1939, binding government from taking sides in any conflict, even to help Europe’s embattled democracies.

And America changed overnight after December 7, 1941."    --  Sean Hannity
